Blue Flower Vine, Magenta Ring, Gold Trim. This design of a garland of bright blue cornflowers was introduced in 1890 by Jeno Farkashazy the grandson of the founder of Herend.
The apparent French influence reflects the country where young Farkashazy was educated. All pieces are enhanced by accents of 24k gold. My daughter bought this tea set when she was intern on a newspaper in Hungary just after the Berlin wall came down. The set has been on display in closed cabinet since then and is in mint condition.
No cracks, chips or crazing. The tea pot is 4 ¾ tall. The sugar bowl is 2 1/8 tall. The tea cups are footed, 2 high with a delicate scalloped edge.
