Rare demitasse set of AA Vantine Japanese porcelain - Collector Quality! Period: Mid - Late 1920s 8 Demitasse Cups; 1 Creamer, 4" high (4.5" plate); 1 Sugar Bowl, 2. " high, 4.5" wide, (6.5" plate); 1 Cover, 4.5 " high, 5.75 " wide (8" plate); 7 Plates 4"; 5 Saucers 4.5"; 2 saucers have small chip on outside edge. Note: Color Pink is noticeably lighter tone than photographs. Ashley Abraham (AA) Vantine was located in New York, opening for business in 1866. It finally closed in the early 1950s. He established himself as a top supplier of Oriental goods, crossing the Pacific many times in search of providing his customers with items to to satisfy the Oriental craze. Pieces are marked with the AA Vantine mark of crossed Imperial Chinese and Japanese flags, with the Turkish crescent moon and star in-between.
