This is an absolutely beautiful ensemble named after perhaps America's premier floral namesake. Steeped in elegance, this teapot, creamer and sugar set from Roseville was produced in the 1940's as a part of their highly desirable White Rose line.
Rich in detail and color, each piece depicts a single rose accompanied by its stem and veined, leafy foliage. The main elements are embossed adding to the depth and visual interest. The primary glaze color is verde brown that is accentuated by a rust tone. Shading and well placed striations compliment the natural motif enhancing its like like presentation. The teapot stands 6 1/4" tall and is 7 1/2" from spout to the base of its stylized arching handle. The creamer is 2 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" from spout to handle while the sugar bowl is 2 1/8" tall and 5 7/8" across its dual handles. Each is marked on the underside with the familiar Roseville mark while individually identified by the shape number of 1T for the teapot, 1C for the creamer and 1S for the sugar bowl. This is truly a magnificent set and is in excellent condition.
It would make a great kitchen display, decorative grouping or simple as an addition to your Roseville or art pottery collection.
