Rare 16pc Nippon Tokusei Tea Set 1920 Early Showa Period Japan Special Make. A spectacular gift for someone special or yourself. Very fine porcelain set includes a Teapot, lidded Cream and Sugar containers, 6 Saucers and 4 Cups.

The early Showa Period during the 1920's. This set is marked with a rising sun mark & kanji characters that indicate the set is Nippon Tokusei. Delicately hand painted in gold and black on a deep ox red background: wonderfully.

Detailed borders and menacing looking, long-tailed dragons breathing fire on each piece. A striking set in excellent condition. Gilded gold on handles and images is in remarkably good shape. A little bit of wear on inside rim of the teapot lid is not visible with a lid on and a rough spot on the inside of the sugar bowl near the lid (could be lack of glaze or wear - I believe the former). It does not impact the look of the sugar bowl at all. Overall, this almost 100-year old Tea Set is in incredible vintage condition. All items are footed and approximate measurements are.

Teapot 7" tall & 7" wide. Sugar 4" tall & 4" wide, Creamer 4" x 3.5"wide. Saucers = 4.5" diameter, Cups = Diameter 3" wide 1.75 tall. All colors are in great shape, any darkness you see on the gold is a reflection of the photo.
