Vintage German Porcelain Teapot Tea Set Art Nouveau Silver Overlay Split Handle. This vintage German porcelain Tea set is decorated with sterling silver overlay in the Art Nouveau style. The set includes a small teapot with matching cream and sugar bowl.
The set has a floral decoration with sinuous leaves and silver trim. Each piece features interesting split twig form handles. The teapot and sugar bowl have matching lids with round open finials. With the exception of minor smears on the trim and a dark spot inside the porcelain on the sugar bowl's interior. Otherwise, its in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, repairs and crazing. 16 ounces and measures approx. 4 3/4" to the top of the finial x 7 1/2" from handle to spout. The cream pitcher holds approx. 4 ounces and measures approx. 3 1/4" high x 4" wide from handle to spout. The double handle sugar bowl is approx. 3 3/4" to the top of the finial x 5 1/2" wind from handle to handle. One petal on one side of the teapot is marked STERLING and all three pieces are marked Made in Germany. The age and maker are unknown. A sweet addition to any collection!
