Vintage Flores Bavaria Porcelian Tea Set

  

This wonderful Flores Bavaria German gold lustre tea/demitasse set was owned by my Grand Aunt Josie. I remember it being proudly displayed in her very tall large china hutch. She loved to entertain so I know the set was used. My cousin has decided to part with some of her treasures and this tea set is one of them.

The 24 piece set has been in the family since the 1960's. It has 1 tea pot, 1 sugar bowl, 1 creamer/milk bowl, and 10 tea/demitasse cups and 11 saucers.

The set is in good condition with the exception of a couple of pieces that were repaired during its life. The upper portion of the tea pot handle was broken, the right handle on the sugar bowl was broken and one cup has 2 tiny chips in the base.

I'm pretty sure the teapot and sugar bowl were damaged at the same time... I can envision Aunt Josie being very upset and calling Uncle Victor to come to the rescue to fix everything... Uncle Victor always fixed anything and everything... Fond memories I have of both of them.

Anyway, all of these damages are in the photos. Otherwise, the set is in great condition. The stones are secure and the gold finish is still very bright and shiny. I will list the dimensions of the set below for those who need to know the size. Tea Pot - 1 piece.

8 1/2 high including the lid. 7 1/2 wide from the handle to the pouring spout. 14 round at the widest point. Sugar Bowl - 1 piece. 4 high to the top of the lid.

5 1/2 wide handle to handle. Creamer/Milk Bowl - 1 piece. 4 wide from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle. 4 wide from the end of the handle to the cups rim. Hold about 2 - 3 ounces.
