TOMORROW'S ANTIQUES AT TODAY'S 20TH CENTURY COLLECTABLE PRICES. Everything is here for a'tea-for-two' moment, whether it is traditional afternoon tea or a classic British breakfast served in and on traditional Engish fine bone china. When describing Shelley, the words'elegance, pretty and Art Deco' come to mind and this rare set, with a surviving teapot that makes it so special, is a gorgeous example of why Shelley is one of the most sought after vintage brands in the World. This is the ever popular and much collected'Wild Flowers' pattern. It is evocative of an English summer day, offering a taste of the countryside rather than the traditional cottage garden. It features a delicate pastel blue trim, which delightfully complements a theme of bright and lavish typically British wild flowers found in meadows and on grass verges. It comprises several very hard to find pieces including a small much sought-after 4-cup teapot in excellent condition and two egg cups. 2 x cups and saucers with a diameter of 5.75in/14.5cm. 2 side plates with a diameter of 6in/15cm and two larger salad plates 8.25in/21cm.
1 eared oval serving or cake plate. The jug is 2.75in/7cm tall and the sugar bowl stands 2.5in/6cm with a lip to lip diameter of nearly 4in/10cm at its widest point. The total weight is approx 2kg. The style of Shelley backstamp, common to all the pieces, dates it to between 1940 and 1966 and the pattern number is 13668; all carry the additional Fushia stamp with the name of the pattern'Wild Flowers'. Condition: All our items are pre-owned and usually range from 10 to 210 years old so they inevitably(and reassuringly) show some signs of age and use, which we always try to flag up in our descriptions and images.

We've checked over all the pieces in bright natural light from all angles and we cannot see any chips or cracks. There are just a few of the usual specs of firing grit in the glaze here and i.
