Paragon Tapestry Rose Tea Set (Including HTF Teapot)
Antique Paragon Tapestry Rose Tea Set (Including HTF Teapot). 1 Large cake plate as shown in this stock photo is also included. This photo is from the web - I will get my set out of storage and post photos of the actual items asap, but this represents the pieces I have almost exactly. Includes the IMPOSSIBLE to find teapot. Been in storage for years, and sorry auntie, but I have to downsize and sell.
Hoping the set finds a very good home. UPDATE: I took all the pieces out of storage today and posted the actual photos.
There are 5 teacups and saucers, (not 6) and only one additional small saucer/canape plate (not two). Maybe there should have been six teacups and saucers at one time? However, the fifth teacup is a little tilted - I took a separate photo of it. It is adorable but would be considered imperfect.
There is a sugar bowl that I forgot to mention in the original description - the creamer AND the open sugar bowl are here. There are no chips or cracks on any of the pieces.In just the right light I noticed some very faint crazing on three of the saucers/plates. I had to really look for it. The gilded edges are all intact and shiny.
I tried to capture photos showing the excellent condition. The set looks new to me which is remarkable for it's age. I can feel some slight differences in the size and weight of some of the saucers/plates. As a former pottery student. I assume that these were each hand-cast instead of machine-made and may account for the slight variations?
Everything feels very delicate and light in your hand. This set was gifted to me in 1990, and although displayed in our china cabinet at one time, Ive never actually used it. My aunt passed away about five years ago, so I can't ask her. I've photographed the markings on the bottom of the pieces for you. They all have this same mark.
The mark on the creamer is finer and slightly lighter than the rest. I hope these details help. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me.
