New Hall Georgian Rose 6 Piece Tea Set, c. 1820, Teapot, Dish, Cups & Saucers
An early 1800s Georgian hard paste porcelain tea set made in England by New Hall. That's over 170 Years Ago! Pink lustre is created by adding a solution of metallic copper to a white or cream bodied piece of pottery prior to firing.
Hand painted with fabulous pink rose luster glaze, featuring iconic bridge and cottage scenes. There are 6 pieces in the set: a teapot with lid, dish, two cups and two saucers. The teapot shape is squat, and rectangular and the lid fits snuggly on the recessed lip of the teapots rim. This is called a London shape.
The dish comes complete with removable wire display frame, perfect for hanging on a wall. The teapot is cracked, so good for display purposes only. Some repairs to the spout. No damage to any other pieces. Light wear to the lustre.
25 cm from handle to spout. 17.5 cm x 15 cm diameter. A rare and stunning set. Perfect for the collector or decorator.
