The original was designed by Christopher Dresser in 1879 and manufactured by James Dixon and Sons the same year. This teapot is very well made.
The teapot is silver plate and the handle is black wood, perhaps ebony. There is no makers mark, but there is a 2 stamped on the bottom. I think this is a serial number since I have a similar teapot in my collection stamped 3.
The teapot is in new condition. It is 6 1/8 tall, 7 7/8 spout to handle, and weights 1 lb 2 oz.
