Antique Victorian RIDGWAY Bone China Tea Set DORSET Shape c1850 Teapot Cups
Stunning Victorian tea set by Ridgway, circa 1850. Ridgway were one of the biggest pioneers of the English China trade and their pieces were always made with the highest quality and design, and this is no exception. The cups are in the Dorset shape, pale blue/purple band edged with gold, with gold line and leaves, circle centre and a simple gold line outside, and the iconic spike on the handle.
The teapot and creamer have suffered some losses as pictured - base of the handle has a chip, and the teapot lid has had some old honest staple repairs, along with another band on the handle to secure. A very decorative and collectable set, scarcely seem as one large group.
