Welcome to William Sharpe Antiques. Here today for your consideration we have this wonderful Victorian sterling silver bachelor's tea set, made by George Nathan & Ridley Hayes of Chester, c-1896.

This wonderful set includes a teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug, each featuring identical design and hallmarks. Condition is good used, with damage limited to the usual surface marks and a couple of minor depressions (nothing too serious). Each piece retains some original gilding (including the interior of the teapot), with each piece free from monogram or crest.

The hallmarks are around 80% overall, with some fading evident (refer to photos). A wonderful set for the home! The teapot stands 12.5cm tall and measures 23.5cm handle-to-spout.

Unless expressly stated above, all pieces are free from major structural damage. However, normal signs of use including shallow depressions, fine scratches, and minor pattern and hallmark wear should be expected.

All pieces (unless expressly stated above) have undertaken a very light polish with respect to the original patina, and a decision for further polishing will be left to the new custodian.
