Antique Sheffield England Crafton Silver Plate Tea Set & Lg Serving Tray 1920s
Antique Sheffield Crafton 1920s 5 Piece Tea Service includes Large Serving Tray with Handles. Teapot with BLACK Bakelite Handle & Top. Hot Water/Coffee Pot with BLACK Bakelite Handles & top.
This set belonged to my grandmother who emigrated from England in the 1920s. It was either brought to Boston by her or was given to her as a wedding gift in the early 1920s.
The tray is Heavy nearly 5 pounds & features gorgeous embossed silverwork. It is Hallmarked Silver on Copper with Hartford Sterling Company Mark & Initials. There are NO DINGS or DENTS on this set. This GORGEOUS set has been in my possession since the 1970s.IT IS MARKED EPNS: ELECTRO PLATED NICKLE SILVER. Teapot: 11.5 " wide X 5" high. Hot Water-Coffee Pot : 10.5 " wide X8" High. Sugar Bowl: 7" wide X 3.25 " high. Creamer: 5.5" wide x 3.25" high.
Handle to Handle: 20 Long. I DID NOT not use chemical or harsh silver polish so it really took a lot of elbow grease, but It was recommended so I used BLITZ products which are "specially formulated with non-toxic environmentally responsible cleaning &polishing agents". I polished up the tea service and tray, but apparently I didn't finish the scalloped edges or back of the tray. I did an Antique Show, the day after Thanksgiving so I had a lot of to work to do to prepare.
I will polish the back of the tray for you if you like. The Tray has no DENTS> NO DINGS OR DAMAGE! It may have some scratches & marks, under the bits of tarnish. The tea service appears scratch free, with NO Dents or Damage.It's a Fabulous set. Please FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS! PLEASE ASK FOR MORE PHOTOS OR INFO!
